Apex Fintech Unveils Alternative Investments Platform, Apex Alts

Apex Fintech Solutions Inc. has announced the upcoming launch of Apex Alts, a platform designed to democratize access to alternative investments for clients of broker-dealers, advisory firms, and wealth management companies.

Set to launch in 2025, Apex Alts will enable eligible investors to seamlessly invest in a variety of alternative asset classes—including private credit, limited partnerships, private equity, and non-traded REITs—directly through their traditional brokerage accounts.

Purchasing process similar to trading equities, mutual funds, or ETFs

This integration allows for a purchasing process similar to trading equities, mutual funds, or ETFs, thereby lowering barriers traditionally associated with alternative investments.

By embedding alternative investments into standard brokerage infrastructure, Apex Alts aims to provide firms with the tools to offer more diversified portfolio options to their investors. The platform consolidates core services such as trading, custody, reconciliation, and investor documentation through the Apex Ascend™ infrastructure. It also offers customizable APIs and user-friendly interfaces to simplify onboarding and integration for users, whether they require a turnkey solution or a bespoke setup.

Apex Alts plans to introduce additional features as the platform evolves, including enhanced marketplace tools and expanded market access, all aimed at delivering superior support for clients and their investors.

This initiative reflects a broader trend in the financial industry toward making alternative investments more accessible to a wider range of investors. For instance, Myinvestor, a neobank in Spain, has begun offering its clients access to a private equity fund managed by Bestinver, with investments starting from €10,000. This move is facilitated by new legislation aimed at democratizing investment opportunities that were previously reserved for high-net-worth individuals.

Similarly, Brookfield Oaktree Wealth Solutions is expanding into Australia’s private credit market with the Oaktree Strategic Credit Fund, targeting wholesale investors through a hedged Australian dollar vehicle. This fund offers diversified exposure across sectors such as software, financial services, real estate, insurance, and healthcare, aiming to provide investors with attractive income relative to other fixed-income proxies.

These developments indicate a significant shift in the investment landscape, with financial institutions leveraging technology and regulatory changes to provide a broader spectrum of investors with access to alternative asset classes.
